📍Hammersmith Studio

September 15th: One day workshop with the author Louisa Taylor 10.30-5pm. Suitable for all levels.

Learn how to make a glaze: weighing, mixing, creating a glaze profile/identity.

What is a glaze? Types of glazes: shiny, matt, maiolica ware, special effect. Firing temperatures (earthenware/mid-temp/stoneware) and types of firing (oxidised and reduction). Basic structure of a glaze - role of flux, silica, and alumina.

All equipment; test tiles and glaze ingredients are provided. Tests will be ready to collect by the following week.

Lunch and refreshments are also provided!

Birthday Parties

Enquire about adult or children’s parties for small or large groups in our Hammersmith or Barnes studios. Choose whether to throw a pot on the pottery wheel, make plates or sculptures in clay and decorate with coloured slips. A clear glaze will be applied to the finished work. Ready to collect 5 weeks after the party.

Membership Opportunities

Enquire to become a member in our Hammersmith or Barnes studio. We offer 24-hour access and the studio can be used for hand-building and throwing techniques. Members get 20% discount on individual or group tuition. We have 15 pottery wheels in Hammersmith and 7 wheels in Barnes.

Our Hammersmith studio is equipped with a slab roller, extruder, 3 large hand building tables, 4 kilns, dedicated technicians, 15 stoneware glazes for members.

Membership costs £250pcm for 20 hours per week access. Kiln firings and glazes are included.

Opportunities to network with other artists/makers, sell your work from the studio, promote your work on instagram.

Corporate Team Events/Parties

📍Hammersmith or Barnes Studio

We have 15 pottery wheels in Hammersmith and 3 large hand building tables to enjoy a fun team building event with us.

A 10-15 person group will last 1.5 -2 hours and during this time you can choose either to throw pots on the pottery wheel or to hand-build with clay at the table. Hammersmith/Barnes.

A 30-40 person taster will last three hours in duration. We will divide you into two-three groups with a dedicated teacher to support and guide you. This gives each group of up to 15 people the opportunity to learn how to throw a pot on the pottery wheel and how to hand build with clay. Each group works with a specialist teacher providing a demonstration to teach you how to work with clay in Hammersmith.

Includes champagne flutes and Prosecco! You are welcome to bring drinks and snacks to the studio.
