We are feeling the autumn vibes, it’s September and already feeling much cooler in the studio. It’s time to get creative and discover the joy of working with clay.

1-Week Intensive Throwing Course

Monday–Friday | 10am–1pm in Hammersmith & Barnes

Looking for an immersive experience? Our five-morning intensive course is ideal for beginners and improvers wanting to develop their wheel throwing skills in a short space of time.

You'll learn to centre clay, throw cylinders, trim leather-hard pots, pull and attach handles, carve decorative details and create more complex forms.

Throwing 4 weeks course with Henry

During this course you will learn how to centre clay pull up the walls evenly to throw a series of cylinder shapes on the pottery wheel.

You will learn how to make bowls, cups, vases and how to apply a glaze to a selection of your best work.

Cost is £200 Inclusive of materials and firings.

Our 4 week courses are perfect for complete beginners and improvers wanting to build confidence on the wheel.

Learn how to centre clay, throw cylinders and transform them into cups, bowls and vases. During the course you'll also learn how to glaze your fired work.

Clay Therapy Throwing Sessions

Experience the calming rhythm of the pottery wheel in our new gentle, mindful clay session where the focus is on the process rather than the finished piece.

Learn the foundations of wheel throwing while enjoying the tactile qualities of clay and the simple act of being present. Nothing is kept or fired, every piece is reclaimed and recycled, making this a fully sustainable experience centred around creativity, mindfulness and letting go. £65 per person for 1.5 hours.

Organic Vessels 4 weeks Courses

In this hand building course on Mondays 10am-1pm/ 6.30pm-9.30pm & Thursdays 10am-1pm/ 6.30pm-9.30pm Hammersmith & Barnes studios you will be guided step by step to learn how to pinch, slab, roll coils & press onto organic fabrics creating natural textures to make a set of domestic tableware; organic shaped plates, cups & bowls.

All materials and firing are included. Cost is £200

Margarida Neves is a Portuguese artist inspired by the quiet strength found in nature. Over three consecutive days Monday-Wednesday 10-1/6.30-9.30pm you will learn how to roll coils to make sculptural and domestic vessels, roll out clay to make slab-built forms. Press texture into clay, make a set of domestic table ware, organic shaped plates, cups & bowls. An extra glazing session is 2 weeks afterwards TBA.

Children’s 6 week pottery course

An introduction to pottery techniques for children aged 6-12 years. During this 6 weeks course you will be introduced to hand -building techniques: coiling/slab working/ sculpture and throwing on the pottery wheel, painting with coloured clay slips.

You will learn how to model with clay and make figurative sculptures of your favourite animals, make plates/bowls/jugs and vases starts

Starts Sunday September 6th at 2.30-4.30pm in Barnes

Learn what a glaze is and how to make a glaze: weighing, mixing, creating a glaze profile/identity.
